The Secret Code in the Bible's First Word (Debunked)
This episode's Watch Your Language takes on a claim that floods social media every single day: that the Christian gospel is secretly encoded in the shapes and "original meanings" of the Hebrew letters — buried in the first word of Genesis, in the divine name, even in your DNA. We through how the Hebrew alphabet actually works (spoiler: acrophonic script indexes sounds, not concepts), why the aleph-tav "alpha and omega" trick falls apart, and what's really going on with the Cepher Bible and every appeal to Strong's. Then Dan B unveils his own airtight code proving what the letters in "Bible," "data," and "dogma" REALLY mean.

Dan McClellan Hey, everybody. I'm Dan McClellan. And
Dan Beecher I'm Dan Beecher.
Dan McClellan And this is Data Over Dogma, where we increase public access to the academic study of the Bible and religion, and we combat the spread of misinformation about the same, and we try to speak around our dental trays without tripping over our words- ... which I'm struggling with today. I don't know if it's as evident to y'all as it is to me. But, uh, anyway, how are things, Dan?
Dan Beecher I mean, your S's are a little bit splashier than they had-
Dan McClellan Yeah. Yeah ...
Dan Beecher than they were in previous times, but it's fine. A
Dan McClellan little more spit coming out the top of the, uh-
Dan Beecher Sure. Sure ...
Dan McClellan the tray is, is... No? Okay, fine.
Dan Beecher Yeah, no one, no one here that is listening to, viewing this is going to, uh, to get any spittle on them. We're all safe. So it's fine. Things are good. Uh, it... You know, I didn't... Uh, the world's on fire.
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher Uh, there's, uh, smoke.
Dan McClellan What do we got, a dozen fires burning right now in, in our state?
Dan Beecher Well, this is what happens-
Dan McClellan Some of them bigger than others ...
Dan Beecher when you, uh, have no moisture at all- Yeah ... all through a wintertime, and then-
Dan McClellan This is why they pray for moisture in those, in- ... in all the Moi- Mormon churches, Dan. They
Dan Beecher do that.
Dan McClellan They say they use that word on purpose.
Dan Beecher Yes. Yeah. So, uh-
Dan McClellan No, but, uh, it's, it's incredibly hot, and it's, uh, also very windy right now. And, uh, we have a lot of leaders in our state saying, "Hey, please don't set off a bunch of fireworks- Yeah ... on the fourth of July, or on July 27th." And guess what's gonna happen? Everybody's gonna say, "You can't tell me what to do."
Dan Beecher I know. I mean, they-
Dan McClellan And a bunch of people are gonna have their houses burned down, so.
Dan Beecher Yeah. Yep. It's a, it's a, a holiday tradition here- Yeah ... in, uh, here in-
Dan McClellan Lose some fingers, burn down a house or two.
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan Uh, but, you know, that's freedom, baby.
Dan Beecher That's freedom. Uh, we got a whole... We gotta do a show here. Uh, and today's episode is fun because we're talking about... It's, it's a watch, watch your language. And you watch your language, Dan.
Dan McClellan And you watch your phraseology.
Dan Beecher Um, but yeah, today we're going to be talking about magic letters and, uh, and the ways in which ancient Hebrew- Yeah ... had, had very special properties.
Dan McClellan All right.
Dan Beecher Uh, and-
Dan McClellan I, I thought we were gonna be talking about pink clovers and, and green- ... mushrooms. And I don't even, I don't even know all of the different shapes. Blue
Dan Beecher diamonds.
Dan McClellan Uh- What is it? Uh, blue-
Dan Beecher It's pink hearts, yellow star, orange stars, blue diamonds, purple horseshoes.
Dan McClellan Not Blue Diamond Phillips?
Dan Beecher Blue Diamond Phillips- ... is, uh, is the name of a guy. Uh, let's, let's just dive in now, please, uh- ... with watch your language. Okay, so for watch your language, uh, we have done, we have talked... I'm gonna sort of bring us back up to speed, because on older episodes- Yeah ... we have talked about the Hebrew, uh, alphabet- Yeah ... and the way in which it evolved from probably Egyptian hieroglyphic sort of imagery- Uh-huh ... and, and, uh, s- you know, the way-
Dan McClellan Yeah, we- ...
Dan Beecher that that happened.
Dan McClellan Mm-hmm.
Dan Beecher And then we're g- and then, uh, we also on another episode talked about, uh, we talked about this, this big, uh, magic meaning that each of the letters in ancient Hebrew has, because someone just made it up. Uh, where, you know, we, we... The first word of the Bible, Bereshit. Yes. Uh, it, it has special meaning. Everything has special meaning. Yeah. Because, and-
Dan McClellan Jesus is there in the very first word.
Dan Beecher Yes, exactly.
Dan McClellan Just like, just like Jesus is in all the names of Genesis 5, and, and Jesus is, is everywhere you look as long as you don't know what you're talking about.
Dan Beecher Or, or as long as you make something up.
Dan McClellan Right.
Dan Beecher Uh, make up a code.
Dan McClellan Mm-hmm.
Dan Beecher So the, the code that they made up, uh, they took all the letters in Bereshit, beit, resh, alef, shin, yod, tav, and then they turned it into beit means house, and resh means head or son, and alef means God or strength, and shin means destroy, and yod means hand, and tav means cross. And so it means that, uh, Jesus was crucifi- God was crucified by his own hand, or God was destroyed by his own hand on the cross or something like that.
Dan McClellan Yes. And- And this, this is, this still gets shared every single day on social media.
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan I can find the, the person- Uh- ... who spread this having their video shared. Who knows how many times.
Dan Beecher So maybe we should talk a little bit about, uh, the ancient... Just let, let's also do a quick recap of-
Dan McClellan Yeah, yeah ...
Dan Beecher anc- uh, of, of the alphabet and where they're coming up with this. Yeah. Or-
Dan McClellan A, a quick last time on. Uh, we'll, we'll, um, go... No, you cannot skip the recap this time. Well, I guess t- you could. But anyway, um, so Hebrew has what's called an acrophonic script. Now, and, and what that means is, is beginning sound, and it comes from ideographic script, or script where the characters actually communicated or indexed entire ideas and concepts and words and things like that. Now, it came from that script. It does not preserve the features of that script. Once it get- becomes an acrophonic script, then the character just indexes or represents the sound that used to start the word- Okay ... that the character represented. So, for instance, beit. That means b in Hebrew. That's all, b. Now, it came from a character that meant beit, uh, which meant house.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan But it does not contain, it does not index the entire concept of house. Now, the problem with, uh, with folks who argue that, you know, the Christian gospel is in the first word of the Bible, is that they're not actually basing their understanding on the characters these things actually came from.
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan Uh, because, like shin does not mean to destroy. And tav does not mean covenant- Okay ... or, or, uh, the cross, like a crucifix or anything like that. Uh, they had very different meanings. And so the, the folks who, who argue that, one, they're totally misunderstanding how Hebrew worked. Nobody wrote the word Bereshit and then, "Guess what? I hid all this extra stuff in there."
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan "And you will only know about this if you speak the language it was written in. Ha ha."
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan "So that way, only the people who read the text will actually know what is going on." Uh- ... it, it's, it's pretty silly, but, uh... And, and there's another one. You've, uh, you've seen the one with the tetragrammaton, the divine name, Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh, right?
Dan Beecher Right. Well, there, there are a few. There are actually a couple that do that.
Dan McClellan Oh, you've found a few different-
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan Okay.
Dan Beecher Well, because there's the one, there's the one that we have talked about, where it's like, uh, one means breathe in, or it's like the- ... like, like there's the breathe in-
Dan McClellan Yeah, yeah, yeah ...
Dan Beecher and breathe out.
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher Like Yah and way somehow, like, m- mean breathe in and breathe out. Yeah,
Dan McClellan that's the sound of natural breathing.
Dan Beecher Yeah, yeah. Uh-
Dan McClellan If you have never- ... never
Dan Beecher mind the fact- ...
Dan McClellan heard somebody naturally breathe. Um-
Dan Beecher Yeah, exactly. Yeah. That, it doesn't work at all. But this one was an interesting one, which was, uh, the divine name broken into its letter symbols. Yod is meant to mean hand.
Dan McClellan Right.
Dan Beecher Uh, He. There's two Hes in it.
Dan McClellan Right.
Dan Beecher So He is behold.
Dan McClellan Mm-hmm.
Dan Beecher Uh, and I believe it's because... And, you know, I saw a thing where it's like they took the, not the actual, um, Hebrew letters, but, like, old pictographic versions- Right ... of those letters.
Dan McClellan Right.
Dan Beecher And, uh, and Yod looks like a, an arm with a hand on it.
Dan McClellan Yeah. Well, it's, it's kind of, um... So Yod is, is like the, the lower arm, the forearm, and the hand is- Right ... and, and there's, it kind of looks like, uh, the claw or something like that- ... in some of the, the early depictions, but- Sure ... yeah. It's, it's the ha- Wait, did you say Yod or He? Yo- Yod
Dan Beecher is that, and then He- Yeah ... is like a dude-
Dan McClellan Yeah, with, like, his arms up. Yeah ...
Dan Beecher a dude with his arms up.
Dan McClellan Yeah. And- And sometimes it looks kind of like, uh, the genie from the bottle because the bottom is just, like, a squiggle.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan And, uh, but yeah.
Dan Beecher It, it looks more like surrender than behold, but they- ... interpret that as behold.
Dan McClellan Which is not what it comes from.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan It, it, it came from ho or hoi or something like that, which was basically, "Hey." It's an interjection.
Dan Beecher Oh, okay.
Dan McClellan It's just somebody getting somebody's attention, uh, or somebody, "Ah," um, uh, you know, just exclaiming.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan So, um, so that's where, where it comes from.
Dan Beecher Okay. Uh, and then-
Dan McClellan So behold meaning look, see is, is not really what's going on there.
Dan Beecher Right. And then Vav, they say, is a nail. Uh...
Dan McClellan Which is also not quite right. Vav is, uh, i- it's based on a word that refers to a hook.
Dan Beecher Oh.
Dan McClellan Specifically a hook that might hold up a curtain.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan That's where we see it used in, in Exodus. And, uh, and you, you really have to squint at it pretty hard to get it to get fuzzy enough that you can say nail.
Dan Beecher Well- Um- ... so they, they did say... So, so what they said was Yod, uh, Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh, hand, behold, nail, behold, which then they flip it around and say, "Look at the, behold the hand, behold the nail."
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher But I mean, that, you're stretching in so many ways on that.
Dan McClellan Yeah, yeah. And, and you're like-
Dan Beecher I do
Dan McClellan like- ... "But, and word order, that's just a suggestion. We can actually- ... put these in any order we want."
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan Um, which is, which is silly. But yeah, it, and, and that again is like, " It's the crucifixion, the divine name- Yeah ... is it?" And, and this is as silly as saying that our DNA has the divine name inscribed upon it. Um-
Dan Beecher Well, there, there's that, too. Talk about that. Walk us through.
Dan McClellan Oh, well, oh, gosh. There's, um, there is a, a claim that I think originates... The idea is that, um, there was a, uh, a scientist. They were like, "An Israeli scientist discovered that there are these," uh, what did he call them? He called them something, something bonds. Um, n-
Dan Beecher I, I-
Dan McClellan It wasn't nucleotides, uh, because that act- that's actually accurate. It was definitely, it was definitely entirely false. It
Dan Beecher just-
Dan McClellan But, but basically, it was like, if you, if you, um, take apart DNA, there are these, uh, gaps or sequences where you get, uh, 10-5-6-5, and, uh, they call them... Uh, I would have to look it up, but they, but they call them hy- It's not a hydrogen bond. It's some kind of bond. But anyway- Okay ... it's something that doesn't actually exist.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan There's no such thing in DNA, and there is no sequence of 10-5-6-5. But if there were- ... they would say the 10th letter of the Hebrew alphabet is Yod. The 5th letter is He.
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan The 6th letter is Vav. The 5th letter is He. And so provided you just arbitrarily say, "We're gonna start and stop here"- Yeah ... you would get Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh. Uh, and-
Dan Beecher Amazing.
Dan McClellan And, and it's all entirely false.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan Um, it's entirely made up.
Dan Beecher All right.
Dan McClellan But, uh, yeah. So, so anyway, there, there are a lot of attempts on the part of otherwise, I'm being charitable and saying well-meaning Christians- Yeah ... uh, to try to read features of the gospel, particularly features of the Christian gospel, into ancient Hebrew because it makes it sexier.
Dan Beecher Yeah. It, it, it's ni-... I get the impulse. Like, yes, you, you want... You, you know, you've got this New Testament thing, and you want- ... the, the other part, the part that came before, to point to that-
Dan McClellan Mm-hmm
Dan Beecher ... because then it confirms your beliefs, and that, that feels good-
Dan McClellan Yeah
Dan Beecher ... to feel like your beliefs are being confirmed. But then you make up a bunch of stuff about Alef Tav and, uh, and things-
Dan McClellan Oh, gosh
Dan Beecher ... so, so I think we do have to get into the Alef Tav thing.
Dan McClellan Oh, Alef Tav. Yeah. Well, obviously we've gotta get into Alef Tav. Uh, So Alef and Tav are the first and the last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. So you already-
Dan Beecher Ah, first and last letters
Dan McClellan ... know where this is going. You already know where this-
Dan Beecher First and last letters
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher That's, that, that's your Alpha and Omega right there, baby.
Dan McClellan Alpha and Omega-
Dan Beecher Yeah, so-
Dan McClellan ... baby. First and last. Yeah. Yeah. So, so Alef Tav is, um, there are two different words in He- there are actually a few different words, but the two main ones that occur the most that are spelled Alef and Tav are, are one, what's called the definite direct object marker, which is a syntactical particle that is not translated into English. You basically put that before the direct object of a verb.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan You don't have to, but you can if you need to clarify 'cause in, in Hebrew... You know, in, in English we use word order to determine, you know, what's the subject, what's the object, and things like that.
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan In case-based languages, you would use cases. So you would, um, you would decline a Latin word differently if it is in the nominative verse, verse the accusative.
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan In, in Hebrew, Hebrew used to have cases. There are some dis- vestiges of the case system, but in order to indicate the direct object, you, you have et. And that goes right before the word. And then et can also be a, uh, a preposition that means with.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan However-
Dan Beecher S- so et is spelled Alef Tav.
Dan McClellan Is spelled Alef Tav. Um, and so because you don't translate the direct object marker, it's secret. It's hidden.
Dan Beecher It's a word... Okay.
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher So what you're saying is if you're looking at it in the Hebrew and you're looking at it in the English, there's this one word that doesn't get translated- Doesn't get translated ... that's just hiding in the Hebrew-
Dan McClellan Yes
Dan Beecher ... and it's not in the English translations, and therefore something's being hidden from us.
Dan McClellan Yes. And what is it? It's the first and the last. The Alpha and the Omega. It is Jesus Christ. And so-
Dan Beecher Jesus, yeah. So Je- so Jesus is, is sprinkled as, as this Alef Tav, uh, formation-
Dan McClellan Yeah
Dan Beecher ... throughout the Bible.
Dan McClellan Yeah. And, and a heavy sprinkling. Like, they didn't open up the, the, uh, the side with all the little holes. They opened up the side that had the spoon on it- ... and just dumped. Um, and-
Dan Beecher Yeah, because there's a lot of direct objects. Uh, direct-
Dan McClellan Well, yeah. The-- you have two of them just in the very first verse of the Bible. So, so Genesis 1:1, Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'arets. And so you've got two ets there. And, and there's this, there's this edition of the Bible, I'm not gonna call it a translation because it's really just stealing another translation- ... and editing it.
Dan Beecher Uh-huh.
Dan McClellan But it, uh, it's called the Et Sefer Bible, and it was put together by people who did not know Hebrew. But what they did w- Their, their, their two main things is, one, they wanna have the Hebrew Alef and Tav there where there's a, where there's a direct object marker-
Dan Beecher Okay
Dan McClellan ... so that you can see- ... where the Alpha and the Omega is. 'Cause you gotta read it in Hebrew.
Dan Beecher Uh-huh.
Dan McClellan Um, and, and so if you go, uh, look at Genesis 1:1, uh, they, they do that. "In the beginning, Elohim," uh, they also wanna transliterate all of the names exactly as they imagine they were pronounced in Hebrew.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan And this is another thing they get horribly wrong. The tetragrammaton, they transliterate as Yahuah.
Dan Beecher Yeah. I've seen-
Dan McClellan I've seen that
Dan Beecher ... I've seen videos of people saying Yahuah-
Dan McClellan Yahuah, yeah
Dan Beecher ... which just sounds like, uh, it, it sounds like-
Dan McClellan They're Marines
Dan Beecher ... what's his name? Al Pacino from-
Dan McClellan Oh.
Dan Beecher ... from that one, uh, from Scent of a Woman.
Dan McClellan The Scent of a Woman, yeah.
Dan Beecher Yahuah.
Dan McClellan Yeah. I thought you were gonna say, "She's got a great ass." Um- ... but I don't think that's... You can't get there from the, the tetragrammaton. But-
Dan Beecher No, no
Dan McClellan ... um, and then they also, they don't translate spirit. They, they transliterate ruach. And then, uh, and then Jesus is not, uh, Yeshua. Uh, they, and it's certainly not Iesous. They're, they're obviously not transliterating Greek. They're reverting back to Yahusha.
Dan Beecher Oh.
Dan McClellan That's what they think, uh, Jesus' name was, was pronounced as. And by the way, um, try to tell me the etymology of Yahuah. Right? Because if you think it was pronounced Yahuah, you just don't know Hebrew-
Dan Beecher Yeah, yeah
Dan McClellan ... and obviously cannot even begin to pretend you know the etymology. Anyway, that's neither here nor there. Um, but this is a, uh, there are movements that, that like doing this, Hebrew Roots movement. There's some, some Messianic Jewish things that do this. But if you, if you get a copy of the Et Sefer Bible, it's going to talk in the preface about why they're doing these things. Well, not so much why, um, but they're gonna talk about the fact that they're doing these things.
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan Uh, but they, they go to, like, Brown-Driver and Briggs. Uh, "Brown-Driver-Briggs tells us that this word," uh, and then they'll, they'll transliterate it, and then they'll, then they'll give you the Strong's number.
Dan Beecher Mm.
Dan McClellan What is the official position of the Data Over Dogma podcast on appeals to Strong's, Dan?
Dan Beecher Uh, the-
Dan McClellan I don't know if it is our official position, but I'm, I'm, um-
Dan Beecher I think you're allowed to make certain o- certain official positions can't come from me- ... so I'm gonna, I'm gonna def-
Dan McClellan Yeah
Dan Beecher ... defer to you on this. But Strong's, Strong's is bad, mkay?
Dan McClellan Yeah. Basically, if you, if your argument, uh, retreats to Strong's, you definitely don't know Hebrew.
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan And the preface retreats repeatedly to Strong's. Uh, Strong's tells us that kodesh, H6944, is from H6942, qadosh, and means a sacred place or thing. Um, again, if you're appealing to Strong's, that means you don't have access to a resource that was published this century.
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan Um, and so it means that you do not have formal training, and you do not know Hebrew. And- Well, no,
Dan Beecher I should be clear. I, I made the joke about it being bad. It's not that it's bad, it's that it's out of date, and that it's, and that, that there is better work.
Dan McClellan Well, yeah, and, and the main thing is that it's... Uh, when you said Strong's is bad, my understanding, and hopefully everybody else's understanding, is that what it, what he means is appealing to Strong's is bad.
Dan Beecher Right.
Dan McClellan Because it's a concordance, and a concordance has a specific utility. And if you know how to use a concordance, Strong's is perfectly fine. It's not a lexicon, and it's not actually telling you what these words mean. Overwhelmingly, Strong's dictionary, it's just telling you how the King James Version or some other translation translated this word. Right. And it's giving you a gloss based on a specific translation. It's not telling you, "Hey, by the way, if it occurs with this preposition, or if it occurs with this as the subject, or if it occurs with this as the object, then it means this." It's not really giving you a clear idea of what's... I- if you're looking at a verb, uh, if it's in the hiphil, what does that mean, and how is it different if it's in the hifil?
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan Um, and you know, the people who are responsible for the Et Tzefah Bible I don't think know what those words mean. But, um, but yeah, they-
Dan Beecher And they're in good company. I also don't know what those words mean, but that's okay.
Dan McClellan And they also, they also, uh... And one of the other indications they don't have the first clue what they're talking about is in all their transliterations, they include, like, an apostrophe to represent the aleph, which is a glottal stop, but they put the apostrophe after the vowel.
Dan Beecher Okay.
Dan McClellan And if you know anything about Hebrew, the glottal stop precedes the vowel. You're supposed to put the apostrophe before the vowel in transliteration. You don't even know how to transliterate accurately. Yeah.
Dan Beecher There you go.
Dan McClellan Like, holy crap, this is bad. Uh, but you will find people on, on social media, uh, trying to... You know, it'll be in their TikTok shop. Get your, get your Et Tzefah Bible in the TikTok shop. Um, if you, if you don't know anything about Hebrew and you want your knowledge to get further away from the Hebrew, get yourself an Et Tzefah Bible. Uh, but, but, you know, it's based on this idea that et is, uh, is some kind of magic word because it doesn't get translated, and, and that's, that's hiding the, the alpha and the omega in the, in your very first word of your Bible.
Dan Beecher Yeah. Yeah. Uh-
Dan McClellan And it's, it, it's a problem ...
Dan Beecher I, you know, I, I can see why that... Again, I get why this feels compelling. I get why this feels cool, 'cause it s- feels like secret knowledge. It feel- it's Da Vinci Code stuff, right?
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher Like, this is what we're dealing with, is someone who... I- I- is, is, is an idea. You know, there's the, there was- Yeah ... the Bible code that was, that came out a while back where- Yep ... they just had a computer sort of look at a- all of the words in the Bible and then cross-reference them in a way that we think we can make... A- and then, you know, if you, if you look at, at it just, just the right way, then it's, it says Kennedy's, it predicts Kennedy's assassination.
Dan McClellan Yeah. And then
Dan Beecher Nostradamus or something. Like, it's just, it feels cool. Like, that's kinda neat. It's just- Yeah ... um, they made it up. Yeah. Uh, it's...
Dan McClellan There, there are a lot of people out there who recognize that, that there are a lot of systems of power that, that try to gatekeep all kinds of knowledge and, and it would be nice to feel like you're not, "I'm not a part of your system. Um, I know better."
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan And, and these are, these are the little, uh, saccharine ways to try to, uh, to get people to feel like, uh, they know better, and it's a problem.
Dan Beecher Well, Dan, as, as a fun experiment, uh, I decided with the help of, uh, a s- a, a friend of mine- Uh-huh ... uh, named Chad GPT. I, uh, I-
Dan McClellan Chad Gupta?
Dan Beecher Yeah, something like that. Uh, I d- I, I developed my own alphabetical, uh, deciphering tool.
Dan McClellan Okay.
Dan Beecher And now I know how English actually works, uh, because I now know what each of the letters of English actually means.
Dan McClellan Oh, really? Okay.
Dan Beecher And I have the ability now to discern what they mean. So for instance, your- 'Cause Engli-
Dan McClellan the English alphabet is based on the Semitic alphabet.
Dan Beecher Exactly.
Dan McClellan So yeah.
Dan Beecher But I, but I, I, I have, uh... Basically, I, it, I just associated a bunch of, uh, words with letter, with the letters based on a, a spiritual understanding and how they looked, because obviously how they look is important. So, you know, A is for ascent because it looks kind of like a mountain or a ladder pointing upward, and B-
Dan McClellan I can dig it. I can see that.
Dan Beecher Yeah. B is, uh, B is breath. It's, uh, it's like lungs. It's like this double sort of humped thing is like lungs. It's, uh-
Dan McClellan I, I have a, a... There could be other double hump things that are, that are by the lungs, but-
Dan Beecher B, B is for butt. Uh, that's the- ... that's the other possibility.
Dan McClellan That's actually not the thing I was thinking of.
Dan Beecher Oh, okay. Well, or boobs or whatever. Yeah. Whatever you, whatever your pervy brain has decided on. Um-
Dan McClellan Well, yeah, have you just, have you just outed me as, as a boob man? Um-
Dan Beecher I guess so. I guess so. Uh, I do, I do like that what it came up with, uh, I... So the word Bible- Is breath plus incarnation plus breath plus, plus law plus extension, which means the breath made flesh breathed again and a- again into law and extended-
Dan McClellan And the law went out
Dan Beecher ... outward.
Dan McClellan Mm.
Dan Beecher Extended the law to us.
Dan McClellan Nice.
Dan Beecher So that's really amazing.
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher Uh, and now I can, I can-
Dan McClellan It can- that, that kind of thing can't be faked. Like, that's not-
Dan Beecher You can't fake it
Dan McClellan ... that's not a coincidence.
Dan Beecher No. Uh, also, if you look at the word data, uh, that's a door. The door ascends a tree. Uh, so do- A is ascent.
Dan McClellan Uh-huh.
Dan Beecher T is tree. Uh, so data is, uh, you know, the door of ascension leads to the tree of higher ascension.
Dan McClellan Mm.
Dan Beecher So data, data sends us up. What's amazing about this, uh, and then I, and then I did dogma, but I wanted it... It, it did dogma, but I wanted it to be a negative, uh, idea of dogma.
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher So that was, uh... Then, then you can say that, like, dogma is bad, the, uh... You know, any- like, the, the, the door of gathered mystery is against ascension sort of thing.
Dan McClellan Mm.
Dan Beecher Um, but what that pointed out to me is,
Dan McClellan so
Dan Beecher I can play this-
Dan McClellan So that's Peter Thiel, right? Uh-
Dan Beecher Right. Exactly. I can play this game with their stuff, too.
Dan McClellan Yeah, yeah.
Dan Beecher So I can take beit is house, and rosh is head or leader or person, and aleph is strength or God or authority, and shin is destroy, and blah, blah, blah. And I can make that mean a house, you know, ruled by the head of power, where destruction is worked by hand under the sign of sacred authority. Or, you know, um, or, you know, Bereshit is a house controlled by leaders who claim divine authority consume, uh, and mark their own violence as a covenant.
Dan McClellan Yeah. Or, or you could just say, "Does a Bereshit in the woods?" Affirmative.
Dan Beecher Okay. All right. How did I not see it coming? That's what I wanna know.
Dan McClellan It was right there-
Dan Beecher How did I not-
Dan McClellan ... the whole time, Dan. That's
Dan Beecher not- Oh, it's been hanging-
Dan McClellan That can't be a coincidence
Dan Beecher ... like lo- like-
Dan McClellan You think this is a coincidence?
Dan Beecher Like the low-hanging fruit in Eden.
Dan McClellan Hey, look.
Dan Beecher I did not see it. Uh, and yet you-
Dan McClellan Somebody's gotta pick that fruit
Dan Beecher ... you partook of it, and now- ... and now we're all-
Dan McClellan And now we are all damned ... damned. That is the, the, uh, original sin.
Dan Beecher All right. Well, there you have it. That's, uh... Don't... You know, if you like fun codes, go out and make some.
Dan McClellan Yeah.
Dan Beecher But just don't claim that they're real, because people will believe you, and then there, then you have a whole... They, it just turns into a whole thing.
Dan McClellan Yeah. And, and when you wink and say, "This is for entertainment purposes only" on your video, just mean it. Just,
Dan Beecher yeah.
Dan McClellan Just mean it.
Dan Beecher Yeah.
Dan McClellan The, the, it's not, you're not, um, trying to get away with some plausible deniability. Just mean it. Have fun with it if you want, but-
Dan Beecher Yeah
Dan McClellan ... uh, agree.
Dan Beecher But actually cop to it being nonsense.
Dan McClellan Yeah, yeah.
Dan Beecher All right. Well, uh, this nonsense is over. So I'm glad of that. Uh, if you would like to become a part of keeping this nonsense going, we would sure appreciate it if you'd become one of our patrons. Head over to patreon.com/dataoverdogma. You can give us a little bit of your coin, and, uh, and if you choose to be at one of the levels where you get a reward, there are cool things. You can get ac- early and ad-free access to every episode. Uh, it comes out a day before everybody else hears it. That's a lot of fun. Or you, uh, for a little bit more, you can get weekly bonus content every week, uh, the after party. You can ask us questions. We will answer them. Uh, so-
Dan McClellan We, sometimes we repeat them. Um-
Dan Beecher Sometimes we repeat them.
Dan McClellan That's accidental.
Dan Beecher Uh, there's a little bit of, uh, the, it, it's not a perfect system. But, uh, we, we try real, real hard. Uh, so-
Dan McClellan Yeah, we have, we have yet to answer a single question two different ways, though, as far as I know.
Dan Beecher As far as we know, we, uh, we-
Dan McClellan I think, yeah. We've been consistent.
Dan Beecher We have. We're stubbornly consistent about things. Uh, thanks so much to Roger Gowdy for editing. Thanks to Sam for being our right-hand dude, and we will talk to you all next time.
Dan McClellan Bye, everybody.
